Panna Cotta

Recipe Courtesy Utah Italian Festival

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 pint whipping cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • 3-4 drops vanilla extract
  • 3/4 bag gelatin
  • Frozen berry mix

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, whipping cream, milk and vanilla extract in a pot and slowly bring to a temperature just before boiling and mix thoroughly with a whisk. Slowly add gelatin wile mixing for 1-2 minutes. Mixture will start to thicken a little. Slowly bring to a soft boil, and let boil for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and pour mixture into cups. Place cups in refrigerator for 5-6 hours until firm. Place on plate, top with berry mix, fresh fruit or any other topping. Serve chilled.
  2. Berry Mix Topping: Add frozen package of berry mix to a blender, and blend with small amount of water and sugar, until the desired thickness and sweetness is achieved.
