Marshmallow Christmas Tree Treats

Marshmallow Christmas Tree Treats

Recipe Courtesy Chef Bryan Woolley

  • 2 cups rice crispy style cereal
  • 2 cups corn pop style cereal
  • 2 cups trix style style cereal
  • 2 cups fruit loop style cereal
  • 2 cups dried and sweetened cranberries
  • 2 - 16 ounce packages mini style marshmallows
  • 1 stick butter (8 tbsp)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

  1. Combine all of the cereals and sweetened dried cranberries in a large bowl. Gently stir all of the cereal to combine them with the dried cranberries.
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter and add the marshmallows. Be sure to continually stir the butter and melting marshmallows together so they don’t burn. Adjust the temperature on your stove to about medium low.
  3. Once the marshmallows are melted, add the vanilla and stir to combine it with the melted marshmallows.
  4. Pour the melted marshmallows over the cereal and fold everything together until well combined.
  5. Spray a large baking sheet with vegetable spray and press the cereal mixture into the prepared baking sheet. Let the mixture cool and set.
  6. Using your favorite Christmas tree cookie cutter, cut the cooled cereal mixture into Christmas tree shapes with your cookie cutter. You may need to spray the cookie cutter with vegetable spray to prevent it from sticking.
  7. Take the extra cereal mixture and place it in a large microwaveable bowl and heat it until pliable and press it back down into a prepared baking sheet and use a different shaped cookie cutter to create other shapes as desired.
  8. Wrap the holiday cut cereal treats with festive plastic wrap and tie of with ribbon. Great for neighbor, family or friend gifts or to simply enjoy!
