Holiday Stollen Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp yeast instant yeast
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 6 tbsp butter, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups high protein flour
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • 1/3 cup currants
  • 1/3 cup golden raisins
  • 1/3 cups raisins
  • 1/3 cup dried chopped apricots
  • Vegetable Spray

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl add the milk, yeast, egg, and sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes
  2. Add the butter, flour, salt, currants, golden raisins, chopped cherries, and apricots.
  3. Knead until mixture pulls together into a soft dough, (About 10 minutes).
  4. Place dough into a lightly greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and allow dough to double in size.
  5. Once the dough has doubled in size, spray your work surface with vegetable spray and transfer the dough to it.
  6. Cut the dough in half and shape two rounds. Place the prepared dough on a parchment lined baking sheet. Brush with egg wash, loosely cover with plastic wrap and allow the dough to double in size again.
  7. Bake loaf in a preheated oven 350 degree’s for approximately 30 minutes. Loaf should have a beautiful golden color to it.
  8. Remove from oven, allow to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
